Gut Issues

Being Healthy Starts in Your Gut

There are trillions of bacteria inside your gut which are essential to your health and wellbeing. Having good gut health means supporting this bacteria and can result in less sick days and a lower risk of suffering with allergies and autoimmune conditions. Unfortunately many people suffer with gut issues, including constipation, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and heart burn. These are all signs of an unhealthy, unbalanced gut. Fortunately, there is a lot you can do to support your gut health through healthy food choices, stress management, restorative sleep and exercise.

“All Disease Begins in the Gut”  Hippocrates”

The intestinal tract forms a defensive barrier from what we ingest and it prevents harmful substances from reaching our bloodstream. If the intestinal barrier is compromised and those harmful substances are able to pass through the gut into the bloodstream, inflammation can occur. Chronic inflammation is associated with the development of chronic health conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, autoimmunity, allergies, kidney disease and many more.
