Inflammatory bowel disease

Personalised nutritional support

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is characterised by chronic inflammation of the lining of the digestive tract. It is the term used for two conditions; Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Ulcerative colitis involves inflammation of the large intestines, whereas crohn’s disease may cause inflammation anywhere along the digestive tract. However, it most commonly affects the tail end of the small intestine.

“At Ellingham Nutrition, our Registered Nutritional Therapist, Annie, will support you to unravel the nutrition and dietary myths and conflicting information.”

Symptoms include abdominal pain and bloating, diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, weight loss, anaemia and fatigue.  IBD may also cause canker sores in the mouth, ulcers and anal fissures. Other symptoms associated with IBD include eye inflammation, joint pain and skin disorders. These symptoms can make living with the condition very difficult, impacting on work, study and relationships.

How I work

Ellingham Nutrition can support you to identify the root causes of your IBD. After a 30 minute FREE discovery call we invite you to complete a nutrition and lifestyle questionnaire. Then we invite you to make an appointment for a 75 minute initial consultation. During the consultation we look at your health history in more detail and talk about how IBD is impacting on your daily life. Then with your health goals in mind, we tailor a plan which will include dietary and lifestyle recommendations and may include supplements and functional tests, where appropriate.

Our fees

This service is tailored for people who aren’t able to make it into the clinic but still want one-to-one nutritional support from the comfort of their own homes and fit around your busy lifestyle.

The Ellingham Nutrition team offer consultations online via zoom, this offers you a similar experience to an in-person appointment, but the consultations will be via a secure online video instead of a face-to-face consulting room.

Our nutritional consultations can also be conducted face-to-face in our clinic. A one-to-one consultation with each client will further understand the factors affecting their nutrition and well-being.
