Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Improve IBS symptoms

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common and often debilitating condition affecting up to one third of the UK population. Symptoms of IBS include abdominal pain, bloating and diarrhoea or constipation and it can greatly affect a patients quality of life. There is a variety of reasons why patients develop IBS but the most common trigger is following food poisoning or gastroenteritis (stomach flu).

“I contacted Annie after struggling with abdominal pain and constipation. My GP diagnosed my symptoms as IBS but was unable to offer further support. Annie supported me to make changes to my diet and to recognise my trigger foods. With the changes I made, my IBS is much better and I am no longer suffering daily abdominal pain.” Lucy, Chester.

Ellingham Nutrition’s approach to IBS is to identify the root cause of your symptoms. We take a comprehensive health and medical history to identify anything in your history that may have led you to develop IBS.  We support you to adopt healthy eating habits, avoiding trigger foods and incorporating active stress management into your daily routine. We may recommend supplements and functional testing where appropriate.

How I work

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we work with you to identify the root causes of your condition. Together we will formulate a nutrition and lifestyle plan that will support your health goals and that are sustainable long term. IBS is a chronic condition that can make the every-day routines of life very challenging. Ellingham Nutrition will work with you to understand the impact IBS has on your life and support you to implement dietary changes to significantly improve your symptoms.

Our fees

This service is tailored for people who aren’t able to make it into the clinic but still want one-to-one nutritional support from the comfort of their own homes and fit around your busy lifestyle.

The Ellingham Nutrition team offer consultations online via zoom, this offers you a similar experience to an in-person appointment, but the consultations will be via a secure online video instead of a face-to-face consulting room.

Our nutritional consultations can also be conducted face-to-face in our clinic. A one-to-one consultation with each client will further understand the factors affecting their nutrition and well-being.
